From 21st to 25th August, the M100 Youth Media Workshop was held in Potsdam for the fourth consecutive time.
30 young journalists from 20 different countries gathered in Potsdam, many of whom originating from the young democracies of the former Soviet Bloc. In various workshops and discussions, the participants discussed the future of journalism: what will be potential challenges that future journalists may face? Naturally, the aspiring journalists came to different conclusions.
Viewed from this angle, the Youth Media Workshop created a platform for intercultural exchange between East and West Europe; not only between members of EU countries but, moreover, amongst representatives from a wider European context, a continent without borders.
In the end, only one thing is certain: all of them will belong to the next generation of journalists – or the readership. Perhaps, this weekend also laid down the future course of journalism.
