Andrea Seibel
Andrea Seibel was born 12th of June 1958
in Hamm am Rhein.
In 1977 she started her studies at the
Free University of Berlin: German language
and literature, history and political sciences.
After earning her MA degree she went straight
into journalism, where she had been
volunteering
during her studies.
From 1982-1995 she was part of the alternative
daily “die tageszeitung”, one of the
few newly
founded papers in postwar germany (travel section,
foreign desk, op-ed,
review of books)
1995-1997: editor foreign desk at
“Die Wochenpost”, an east-western weekly.
Since 1998 she is with “Die WELT”. After four
years as head of Forum (op-ed)
she serves as vice editor in chief since
winter 2002.
Andrea Seibel is married; no children
