The M100 Sanssouci-Colloquium is accompanied by
a (mainly journalistic) advisory board. The members
meet periodically in Potsdam and plan and discuss
together the topics and participants of the M100
conferences. The advisory board acts also as jury
for the M100 media award.

Chairmen of the board are the British publisher
Lord Weidenfeld and Potsdam’s Lord Mayor,

Mathias Döpfner is Chairman and C.E.O. of Axel Springer AG in Berlin. He has been with Axel Springer AG since 1998, initially as Editor-in-Chief of Die Welt and since 2000 as Member of the Management Board. During his career Mathias Döpfner held different positions in media companies. Among others he was Editor-in-Chief of the newspapers Wochenpost and Hamburger Morgenpost. At Gruner+Jahr he was Assistant to the CEO in Hamburg and to the Head of International Business in Paris. Mathias Döpfner worked as author and Brussel based correspondent for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He studied Musicology, German and Theatrical Arts in Frankfurt and Boston. He is member of the Board of Directors of Time Warner Inc and holds several honorary offices; among others at the International Journalists Program (IJP), the American Jewish Committee, the American Academy and the Aspen Institute.
